Business Management Skills: Communicating for Impact, a Core Skill

By the end of this course:

You will be able to effectively express your thoughts and feelings in a way that others will respect and understand.

Communication

You’re ahead of the game even thinking about improving your communications skills. Most people don’t communicate nearly as well as they think, and it shows. If you want to express your feelings and ideas, speak and write with more impact, and listen well, you have come to the right place.

Poor communication wastes time, causes confusion and frustration, leads to bad decisions and hurt feelings, costs money, and is usually boring. On the plus side, good communication is engaging, informative, actionable, interesting, quick, and of course, clear and simple.

This is a skill-building course to enable everyone in an organization, a business, family, anyone, anywhere, to communicate expertly. This means being able to organize ideas, express them accurately and understandably, and be able to elicit feedback so the communication loop is closed. From appreciative inquiry to giving bad news, all the important challenges of effective communicating are covered. You will be able to handle just about any situation and have a good chance at handling every situation.

What makes this course different? The course uses as a core concept a communication model I learned sixty years ago. It has proven its value ever since. I also created many of the tools you will learn, use them daily, and taught these tools in communication workshops. The material in this course has created a well-proven path to excellence. Come join me.

Both concepts and skills are taught. In addition, a section will teach the basics of good editing by working on a practical exercise. Explore how to express ideas and feelings. Connect with others in the most delightful ways.
