Hi, I’m Ashley! I have been working in Excel almost every day for the past 10 years. I am a CPA with a master’s in accounting and a bachelor’s in business. Excel has been very beneficial for me while working various tech and accounting roles, but also personally to build budgets and track expenses. I especially enjoy building income statements in Excel for personal and investing finances. Income statements are used in business to report revenue, expenses and net income (loss). I hope to show you how you can create a basic income statement in Excel as well.
The Creating an Income Statement in Excel (Real Estate Investing) course enables you to track all of your revenue and expenses in Excel, and then leverage the Excel pivot table function to summarize your data. From there, you will be able to create in income statement template and link your summarized data from your pivot tables to the income statement. The course is broken out into five lessons as follows: Creating a revenue tracking sheet, creating an expense tracking sheet, creating an income statement template, summarizing your raw data using Excel pivot tables, and linking your summarized data into your income statement template.
We create and build on an example for real estate investing (owning rental properties), while walking through each lesson. However, this course is for anyone looking to learn how to create a basic income statement in Excel. You only need very basic Excel knowledge, which you can gain from my Basic Excel course, and basic income statement knowledge to follow along. The course is under an hour as we get straight to the point!
I plan on posting additional courses around real estate investing soon! Please check back if you are interested.
