A broken jacket zipper is the most common reason that it ends up in the landfill. Replacing the zipper may feel intimidating but with some basic sewing skills, a sewing machine and you can do this.
Years ago some companies would replace the jacket zippers when they broke, but this is rarely the case anymore as we have become a society of fast fashion, quickly discarding what is broken or no longer fits the latest style.
Rather than throwing the jacket away the zipper can be removed with a seam ripper and a new one put in its place. One of the more challenging parts of this repair is the layers of fabric. This course takes you step by step through how to replace a jacket zipper from start to finish.
With this course you will be saving jackets from a landfill, saving yourself the money to buy a new coat and could even learn to become an expert at replacing jacket zippers, which could earn you some money offering this service to others.
