What you’ll learn

- The student will learn how to implode twisted glass cane and apply it to a heart base bead.
- The student will learn how to implode enamel powders and apply them to a lentil base bead.
This class will be presented to show the student how to perform implode glass beads to make beautiful designs. The class is intended for the beginning student and does not require a lot of experience. The class will start with an introduction and a presentation slide of the class Syllabus. The instructor will then conduct an overview of all the mandrels required for the class.
The first lecture will discuss the basic disc technique needed to start all the implosions. Dots and stripes will be applied to the disc in a flower pattern. The disc will then be imploded, and the instructor will show how to apply the flower to a base lentil bead.
The second lecture will demonstrate how to create a succulent bead with bubbles on the tips of the petals. The imploded succulent will also be applied to a base bead.
The next lecture will demonstrate how to form teardrop implosions using 2-color twisted cane. The resulting teardrops will be applied to a base barrel bead to form a heart.
The next two lectures will show how to use a floral frog to introduce spikes to implosions on both glass frit and enamels. Texture plates and homemade tools will also be used to add additional design ideas to the enamel implosions.
The final lecture will demonstrate how to make murrini rose implosion pendants.
A short wrap up will conclude the class.
