At the end of my course you will be able to make items for your home which look like they have taken quite some time to create but in fact can be done pretty quickly and easily. You do not need to be a skilled or semi skilled ‘crafter’ .This straight- forward, step by step guide demonstrates how to make items of homeware for you or for friends and family. It shows you how you can match colour schemes in any room of your house to make beautiful coasters and how to create platters to use as statement pieces or to enhance your dining table when entertaining.
The course opens with me explaining how and why I first started and how this can be a creative and absorbing hobby or can lead to being a potential money spinner. You will then be given a brief history of the art of decoupage. It then goes on to illustrate that you don’t need to have a workshop or craft room to do this. You just need a table or work surface and some brown paper. You also don’t need to invest in expensive equipment, just various sizes of plain wall tiles, paper serviettes/napkins, several different size brushes and several different types of glue. You will also be advised where to buy the equipment and shown some handy tips for cleaning and looking after it.
Finally, you will be taken through just a small number of stages which will demonstrate how to make your pieces. At the end of each stage, I will recap what you have been shown and you will also give you some ideas as to how you can use them in your home.
