The course introduces to playing two ragas Malahari and Kalyani on the piano / keyboard through the

Carnatic Classical school compositions ” Geetham” which are considered to be the initial introduction of

notation concept to compositions.

Students will learn the Swaras ( notes) and the tala (rhythm) of the compositions and identifying them on the instrument and learning to play the instrument with proper finger usage.

Two rhythm patterms of Roopaka Talam and Triputa taalam are briefed in this course.

Kamala Jaadhala Geetham , notes is given in the downloadable materials for reference.

1) Sri Gananatha : Reference notes

R – C# ( c sharp key) – Shuddha Rishabam – Re 1 variant

G – E key. – Antara Gandharam – Ga 2 variant

M – F  key – Shuddha  Madhyamam – Ma 1 variant

P – G key

D –  G# ( G sharp)  key – Shuddha Dhaivatham – Dh 1  variant

Please note that S and P does not have any variant sharp or flat frequencies for Sa and Pa , hence only the variants of R,G,M,D are mentioned above.

2) Kamala Jaadhala : Reference notes
