In this course, prepare to enter into the amazing world of Blues Rock and Boogie Woogie piano music. Throughout the course, you will learn several new styles and techniques unique to this genre of playing but which are also transferrable to other styles of piano music.
By the end of the course, you will have started to learn a variety of left hand bass lines, which will underpin the flare that you will add with the right hand. We’ll look into right hand improvisational skills as well as looking at the mechanics of how to create your own personal blues riffs.
The overall focus of this course is to get you playing basic blues rock piano with both hands so that you can create your own compositions and jam along with other musicians in this style with relative confidence. To achieve this, we will look at how the left and right hand rhythms come together by breaking them down to a very slow speed and then gradually working up to playing them at performance speed.
As well as looking at the practical side of playing blues rock piano, we will look briefly into the roots of the genre and go over some of the many artists that you should be listening to in order to take inspiration and apply it to your own playing.
The introduction to blues rock piano is a journey to learning a brand new style. Beginner players will find it really useful for getting a lot more familiar with the piano keyboard and intermediate to advanced players will enjoy a complete diversity from genres such as classical or pop music.
