Introducing Yourself: French Vocabulary and Pronunciation

Hello, and welcome to this course on vocabulary & Prononciation.

My name is Christelle, and I will be your very own teacher of French language.

I am a native French speaker, but this course will be taught in English.

I have a Bachelor in English, and a Master’s Degree in Applied Languages.

I have worked for 5 years as a freelance translator. In 2019, I took some time to think about a career change. I studied new topics, and worked in a museum. In 2020, I decided to start working as a self-employed Linguist and French teacher.

Why did I decide to make courses ?

I love learning. whether it’s marketing, sciences, languages, music, photography, I just love learning.

And for that, I am very happy that there are resources to learn on my own, such as books, online courses, videos, and so on.

But when it comes to the French language & linguistics, which is my area of expertise, I think that there is some content missing online.

For example, I think that there is a lack of advanced content for the students who really want to go further.

I also think that, for all levels, students feel a need to practice pronunciation, & to be able and confident in order to talk more.

So I want to do a series of courses focusing on conversation, and more precisely vocabulary & prononciation.

In this specific course that you are watching, called “Introducing yourself” you will learn:

– how to greet someone, say goodbye, and the different times of the day
– how to talk about your name & your age, and numbers
– how to introduce your family & talk about your housing situation
– how to briefly talk about your work & your hobbies

In the lessons, you will already have the opportunity to repeat after me and to practice. On top of that, there will be exercises for you to practice even more.

I would recommend that you wear headphones to hear better. I also recommend that you listen to the lessons and exercises in a room alone, so that you can speak out loud.
