This course introduces you to the basics of differential and integral calculus. It explains some of the most important concepts and theorems in calculus and, by the end, you will be able to solve real-world problems by applying the principles of differential and integral calculus. This material is equivalent to first semester college calculus and is suitable for those taking the AP (Advanced Placement) math exams.
What You Will Learn In This Free Course
Limits and Continuity
To start, this module will introduce you to the meaning of the limit of a function and the idea of continuity in differential Calculus. The module also explains the concept of One-sided limits.
The Derivatives
To start, this module will introduce you to the mathematical idea of derivatives and the applications of derivatives in science. In this module, you will also be introduced to the use of derivatives and the Quotient Rule to find trigonometric functions.
Higher Derivatives
To start, this module will introduce you to the derivatives of inverse trigonometric functions (Arcsine and Arctangent functions). You will also learn about the relationships between functions and their first and second derivatives.
The Second Derivative
To start, this module will introduce you to the use of the critical point method and mean value theorem in calculating the value of functions. You will also learn about linear approximation and how it is used with the linear function.
Diploma in AP Calculus AB – First Assessment
In order to pass this assessment, you will need to score 80 percent or above. Remember, if you do not achieve the required standard after the first attempt, you can re-take the assessment until a successful outcome is achieved.
Definite and Indefinite Integral
To start, this module will introduce you to the concept of the anti-derivative function which is commonly referred to as the Indefinite Integral. The module also describes how to use the Riemann sums, rectangular and trapezoidal approximation methods in integral calculus.
Properties of Definite Integral
To start, this module will introduce you to the definite integral and its properties, the mean value theorem and the average value of a function at an interval, and the six basic trigonometric functions.; Module
Applications of Definite Integral
To start, this module will introduce you to the concept of Integration by parts, inverse trigonometric functions, and natural exponential functions. You will also learn about a variety of applications of the definite integral.
Diploma in AP Calculus AB – Second Assessment
In order to pass this assessment, you will need to score 80 percent or above. Remember, if you do not achieve the required standard after the first attempt, you can re-take the assessment until a successful outcome is achieved.
