In this course, César teaches you a variety of tattooing techniques for creating colorful works of art with unique personality. See how to set up your workspace, tune a tattoo machine, and prepare your colors. Discover tattooing techniques and movements before learning how to prepare the transfer, place your design, and do linework and shading. Move on to working with color and see how to create saturation, different textures and tones, and add definition and shine. By the end of the course, you’ll know how to do full-color tattoos.
César Pinto opens the course by telling you a bit about himself and how he found his way into the world of art and then tattooing. He also shares some of his biggest influences before giving you an overview of the course.
Begin with the basics of tattoo design and go over the materials you need as well as how to set up your workstation. Learn how to tune a tattoo machine by adjusting the voltage and needle depth and then see how to mix and apply colors.
With your tools ready, César teaches you key tattooing techniques and movements such as the pendulum, drag, and zigzag. Now it’s time to work on skin. See how to properly line up and place your design on specific areas of the body and prepare your transfer.
Ready, set, ink! Start with the linework and define the shape of the tattoo. Then, identify the darkest parts of the design and apply shading using the proper techniques and needles.
