Caricatures don’t lie, they exaggerate! In fact, they have the power to capture the true essence of a character by magnifying one of their features or traits. By combining classic design techniques with digital tools, you can create unique caricatures with a modern look.

In this course, digital caricature artist Albeniz Rodriguez teaches you how to use Infinite Painter to illustrate a caricatured animal portrait based on a reference photo. Albeniz is known for his fun, colorful designs, which have led him to work with clients like Disney and Wacom.
Join Albeniz and unleash your creativity to make a larger-than-life portrait of your favorite animal.

Start the course by meeting your teacher, Albeniz Rodriguez, who tells you about his career and how he became a caricature artist. He also shows you some of the major artists and film directors that have influenced his style over the years.

Get straight to work on your final project. Albeniz gives you an introduction to Infinite Painter and shows you how to use a variety of brushes and other useful tools for your design.

Then, start shaping your composition. Using your reference photo, add a base layer of color and create a rough sketch with geometric shapes.

When you’re done with your sketch, analyze your animal’s salient features (eyes, nose, ears, etc.) and learn how to exaggerate them in a typical caricature style.
