For Jimena Larrondo, one of the biggest challenges in designing a collection is to blend her style with what the consumer wants and can buy. As the creator of Santo Remedio and designer of accessories, she seeks to develop pieces with a unique identity and in a responsible way.

Jimena has collaborated with designers such as Guillermo Jester and created garments, jewelry and decorative pieces. In this online course, she will teach you how to make a beaded bag and advise you on how to continue designing these statement pieces and have your own collection.

At the beginning of the lessons, Jimena Larrondo will talk to you about how she decided to design “breaded bags” and the creation of her brand. She will also share her influences and what inspires her.

Next, you will review the materials that will be needed to complete your final project and you will begin the creation of samples with different beads and tension levels. You will think about how to assemble your bag and you will see the steps to
design its structure.

With the drawings ready, you will make the prototype of the bag, starting with one of its faces and using different colors to recognize its parts. You will continue with the second face and the base and, finally, you will crochet the straps and the sides.

Finally, you will add textures, decorations and everything you want to customize your piece and Jimena will give you some important tips to complete a collection.
