Distance learning tools: Microsoft Teams Tools & MoE’s LMS Platform for E-learning “NoorSpace”

A course provided by the Ministry of Education aimed at enabling the teacher and student to use and employ the services of the ministry’s accredited e-learning platform, NoorSpace as well as learn to utilise the tools offered in Microsoft Teams to achieve effective distance learning.

Microsoft teams is a platform for communication and collaboration that combines continuous chatting in the workplace, video meetings, file storage and management, and application integration. The service integrates with the company’s Office 365 suite and features extensions that can integrate with non-Microsoft products.

Through the tools provided by Microsoft Teams, teachers can communicate directly and indirectly with members and exchange various media, in addition to allowing the teacher to build many test models and send them to the target group, receive responses to address the results and issue assessments. The teacher can also do many worksheets and assignments and schedule their transmission at specific times for students. The teacher can follow the students’ activity at any time and issue reports accordingly.

NoorSpace platform provides data about schools, teachers and students that allow for effectively achieving distance learning, when used with communication tools between teachers and students. Platform also allows for activating homework/duties, as well as providing access to the electronic educational resources published on the platform, in addition to the possibility of students assessment through electronic examinations to identify their weaknesses and strengths and get feedback on their learning.

This course targets teachers and students in all schools where the mechanism of using the following services on the platform will be explained:

E-mail service/ communication between teachers and students

Homework/duties service

Student assessment services at the school-level through electronic examinations

The importance of this course is that NoorSpace is known to all schools, students and teachers and contains data about education administrators, schools principals, teachers and students and their marks for all education authorities, as well as teaching relations between teachers and students by class, division and subject, which leads to easy communication and interaction between teachers and students.
