1. Are online courses really free?

Many are free to study. On this directory, a large share of courses are free with a certificate available for a fee, many others are completely free without a certificate, and some include a free certificate. Others need a subscription or one-time purchase. Each course page shows its pricing and certificate options.

2. Do online course certificates matter to employers?

They can, depending on the field and the provider. Certificates from well-known universities, companies and professional bodies carry more weight, especially when they show practical skills. Employers usually value what you can demonstrate, so combine certificates with projects or work examples that show your skills in action.

3. How long does an online course take?

It varies widely. Many courses on this directory take under 10 hours, while others take 10 to 40 hours or more. Self-paced courses let you set your own schedule, while scheduled courses suggest a weekly commitment. Check the expected duration and weekly effort before enrolling so the course fits your time.

4. How do I choose the right level?

Read the course description and prerequisites. Beginner courses assume no prior knowledge, intermediate courses expect some background, and advanced courses build on solid experience. If you are unsure, start with an introductory course in the subject; it is easier to move up a level than to struggle with material that assumes too much.

5. Can I take courses from different providers?

Yes. You can mix courses from different platforms to build the exact set of skills you need. This directory lists courses from many providers side by side so you can compare similar courses and choose the best fit for your goals, budget and preferred way of learning.

6. How does this directory help me choose?

Each course page brings together the key facts in one place: provider, level, duration, pricing, certificate and learning outcomes. You can browse by subject, filter by attributes and compare courses before going to the provider to enroll. The directory is free to use, and some links may earn a commission.
