This course has 6 lectures. The first lecture is a revision of all basic tactics, so that you are on track to learn advanced tactics. Each of the remaining lectures cover very important tactics in chess – Windmill, Double Check, Intermezzo, Clearance & Interference.
Windmill makes your opponent swirl and collapse. A Double check makes the king run for cover. Intermezzo is that cool intermediate move we play in the middle of a combination. An intermezzo can be a cruel surprise to your opponent who thinks he/she has calculated everything. Clearance is when you make an unwanted piece move out of the way or a square. Interference interferes with our opponent’s pieces and destroy their coordination.
Once you understand these tactics, you will be able to spot such patterns effortlessly in your own games.
When you take this course, please think and calculate along with the instructor. You can pause the videos at the right places and try to figure out the winning combination before the instructor explains it to you.
