This is a highly-practical course backed by a useful theory. My goal is to make you an Agile Professional, who can leverage planning and estimating skills in your job to deliver Software projects with success.

Planning and Estimating are two critical skills each project manager needs to have. This course was designed for everybody who would like to become an expert in these two fields. We are going to start slowly with the introduction to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), we will talk about many different Agile methodologies and frameworks (DSDM, Scrum, Kanban), and compare Agile to the Waterfall approach.

Then we will do a lot of hands-on exercises based on our Figma designs developed to help you understand these processes better. We will do the whole project life cycle – starting with the Product Vision and Prioritized Requirements list, through the User Story Maps and Release Plans developed in Miro, up to the Sprint Planning sessions, Backlog Grooming and Daily sessions in Jira. During our journey, we will learn a lot of useful tools and techniques used to estimate, prioritize and plan our projects. Some of them are:

  1. Planning – DSDM life cycle, Agile Onion Planning framework, User Story Mapping, Release Planning, Product Breakdown Structures, Sprint Planning…

  2. Prioritization – MoSCoW, Backlog Refinement, 100 Points, KANO Model, RICE Score model, Value/Size/Risk model …

  3. Estimating – T-Shirt Sizing, Story Points, Affinity Diagrams, PERT, Triangular Distribution
