Hands and feet have been illustrated endlessly throughout history, but to get them just right, it’s vital to have a deep understanding not only of the shapes, but also the nature of how they work. Learn all this and more with Colombian illustrator Miguel Bustos Gómez, better known as Zursoif. He has worked as an illustrator for different publishers including Rey Naranjo, Ediciones Vestigio, and Editorial Planeta.

In his previous courses, Zursoif brought you Figure Drawing for Beginners and Figure Drawing: The Human Head. This time, master not only how to draw hands and feet, but also bones, joints, and major muscles from the limbs of the human body. Get to know their shapes and movements and draw them with or without the help of a reference model.

Start by meeting Zursoif, who tells you about his career in the world of drawing, some influences present in his illustrations, and what to expect from the course.

Look at some of the concepts of anatomical drawing, examples of templates for stenciling, and some drawing references. Begin by sketching some basic shapes like cylinders and spheres, then move on to the bones of the torso and the spine.

Draw the anatomical parts of the limbs, from the shoulder and arm to the fingers, and from the hip to the feet. Familiarize yourself with the muscles and ligaments that allow us to move and take a look at how to give them texture, then do the same for the bones.

Compile a selection of material to make up your anatomical portfolio, analyzing all the different views you need. Now you’ve got all the skills required to draw amazing human anatomy with or without a reference model.
