Applying the techniques to the haircut
(Demo Medium skin fade with shear cutting) (90 mins)
This demo will show you step by step how to apply the best techniques to create a medium skin fade. I will also incorporate how to use different shears.
Consultation figuring out what we’re gonna do
Decide how high they want to go with the fade
Create your line of demarcation.
Follow that underneath with your foil. (be sensitive not to irritate the skin)
Create your half line (explain the two methods of creating the half line) (one requires a metal FX comb set and I highly recommend it, for those who don’t have the set here is how you can do it in the meantime…)
Create a seamless blend between the two lines
Take your number 2 guard up to the parietal ridge
Then reverse your numbers from there until you reach the half line
Now we’re ready to cut with the shears
Figure out the length you want to scissor cut the top (medium length in this example)
Then we’re going to cut in three panels (top and the two sides)
Cut the sides with shears at 90 degrees
Tie in the sides with the parietal ridge using shear work.
Cross check everything to make sure it’s all even
Blow dry and style haircut (show the different ways to create volume with a brush)
Who this course is for:
- I recommend Mastercraft Fundamentals for any new barber, stylist or hairdresser who’s looking to learn the best practices in fading, blending, clipper over comb, and how to create clean outlines.
