This course addresses the physical components of a city, its area, residents and the activities carried out by its residents.
Topics covered include:
– Introduction to city management systems
– Classification of cities of the Arab world, according to their historical development
– Presenting the stages of development of cities in the Arab world to this day
– Presentation of the activities and different roles — administrative, political, cultural and economic — that were included in cities of the Arab world historically. It will address how some of these activities continued until the modern period, while others stopped, as well as the development of new activities in these cities.
– Discuss the disparity in income levels between different cities in countries of the Arab world, between cities of the same country, and between inhabitants of a single city
– Presentation of the buildings and public facilities in a city that serve all of its inhabitants and raise the quality of their lives in the city.
