Hello and Welcome, to the Eastern Kuku Yalanji Cultural Awareness Training, my name is John Dockrill and I am an Archaeological Surveyor and Cultural Heritage Advisor. Together with Traditional Owners Sheryl Burchill and Vincent Tayley we will deliver to you the Eastern Kuku Yalanji Cultural Awareness Training package for you benefit and understanding of Eastern Kuku Yalanji Protocols process and historical milestones.
This training will provide you with the background knowledge and Tools to productively work on Bama Country while remaining respectful and courteous to the Traditional Land Owners. This training is recognised by Jabalbina Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation that is the Registered Native Title Body and Cultural Heritage body for the Eastern Kuku Yalanji People of Far North Queensland Australia. These learnings will also allow you to navigate respectfully across the Australian Continent although do not replace or speak for other Aboriginal Lands, Custom or their Lore. At the conclusion and successfully passing this course you can download your course certificate and this will serve as recognition of this important training.
Please note that this is only the beginning of your Cultural Journey and it is important for Traditional Owners to cleanse and protect you when you enter their land (Country), this would be completed by a Traditional Smoking ceremony when and where you visit.
