Hi! Nice to meet you , and welcome to my course page! I am Ilia Laporev, and I’m a professional cellist from Belgium. I am mostly active as a cello master teacher, but also very experienced in Symphony Orchestras. From 2015-2018 I was Principal Solo Cello of the prestigious OSESP (Symphony Orchestra of São Paulo). After my Brazilian experience I went back to Europe where I got invited to play as a Solo Cello in world leading orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg and many others.
I have done so many orchestral auditions in my life, and like most of the musicians, I did not get the place. But I never saw it as a failure, I saw it more as an experience to become even stronger for the next audition. But sometimes it’s just destiny. Life will show you the path. Remember, you need to fail if you want to succeed.
