Character Design with Stylized Anatomy
Learn to illustrate expressive and communicative characters through stylized anatomy
For Carmela Toro, it is important to adopt a new way of observing and interpreting the world around us. Thus, from a personal vision, we can create charismatic characters that represent our unique perspective and stand out for their originality.
In this online course, Carmela will teach you how to build a bridge between perspective and anatomy to create a new aspect of drawing that will help you find your own voice and explore new possibilities.
In the first unit, Carmela Toro will share a little about her life, her influences and her career in illustration.
Right away, you’ll learn the characteristics and quirks of a character, and you’ll know what “stylized anatomy” means. In addition, you will do some exercises to review the basic concepts and practice the lines on the face, as well as the creation of characters through geometric figures.
In the next unit, you will delve into the psychology of the characters to define them before starting to design them and you will decide which ones you will work with in your final project.
Finally, Carmela will tell you about the key points of color and her drawing philosophy to capture sensations and interpret the reality she sees.
