In this course, we will use a textbook and a workbook to learn Mandarin. The textbook is for reading, listening and speaking and the workbook is for some writing exercises. There are 5 units and 15 Lessons in total:
Unit 1: Pinyin(alphabet), Basic Strokes, Numbers, Greetings
Unit 2: Dates, Age, Telephone Numbers
Unit 3: Family Members, Self-introduction, Occupation
Unit 4: Time, Daily Routine, Transportation
Unit 5: Colors, Clothing, Parts of the Body
The lessons will contain various songs and slides to help you learn and have fun. Every lesson will be about 15-30 mins and there are unit revisions at every end of a unit. We will focus on the most important content in the textbook and do part of the exercises in the workbook.
While watching the lesson, please read and repeat the new words and sentences and try to put them into practice to enhance your memory. There might be some writing exercises for the possibility that you might like to take a HSK standard test in the future. However, if you just want to focus on speaking and listening practice, you can skip the writing homework.
After finishing the courses, you will stand a good chance to talk about yourself in Chinese for more than 1 min and you can totally have a basic conversation with Chinese people. Enjoy your Chinese learning journey!
