Analyze and develop your video game idea by creating the perfect document for potential partners or investors

Add your review

The creation of a pitch or sales presentation is the first step that an aspiring videogame designer must follow in order to sell their idea, both to future team members and potential investors. In this course you will learn to analyze and develop your game idea so that it is feasible and transform it into a coherent presentation, understanding the role played by the videogame designer in this process.

You will be joined by Tatiana Delgado, a videogame designer with experience in studies such as King or Gameloft, and founder of the Vertical Robot and Out of the Blue studios, dedicated to the development of video games.

You will start by knowing Tatiana, her professional career and some of the most important projects she has worked on. In addition, she will share with you the video games she considers referents and the designers she most admires and respects.

You will learn the different roles that a game designer plays, the types of game designers that exist in the sector and the documentation that she handles in her day to day.

You will know the phases of the development of a videogame, from the idea to its release and the tools used by a game designer to document the progress of your project.

Then you will see what it is and how to write a game document or pitch to be able to sell your idea both to the team and to seek financing. While writing the document you will see the different sections that you must define: scope of the game, visual style, mechanics, camera, characters, controls and much more.
