    In this module. you will be introduced to developmental disorders, types of developmental disorders, and Visual Aids as a vital tool in managing children living with Autism and similar disorders.

    Meltdown Strategies and Life Skills

    In this module, you will learn about meltdowns, and how to handle them with Autistic children. You will also learn about teaching important life skills, Self-feeding, and Using the toilet to children living with Autism and similar developmental disorders.

    ABA Theory and Components

    This module introduces Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) as a concept and explains some of its guiding principles and some of its techniques. It also explains how ABA can be used to improve motor and language skills.

    ABA Cognitive Skills and Visuospatial Techniques

    This module demonstrates how ABA techniques like Chaining and Sequencing can be used to improve cognitive skills in Autistic children; and how techniques like Gradation and Patterning are used to improve visuospatial skills. It also teaches how to ensure lessons learned from ABA sessions are applied to general situations.

    Inclusive Education Systems and Behavioural Implications

    In this module, you will see an example of an inclusive education system, and understand the need for such a system. You will also learn about the characteristics of children with developmental disorders and the common challenges they face, particularly in academic environments.

    Intervention Strategies. Best Practices and Independence

    In this module, you will learn about visual supports like visual schedules and organisational prompts, and how they are used to improve educational, social, and behavioural skills in children with Autism and similar developmental disorders. You will also learn about involving a child’s peers in the support system.
