What you’ll learn
- Students will learn to use the latest tools and a new way to approach safety on construction sites and in general industry. Based on years of research and partnerships with industry leaders, this safety education module is like no other. Students will learn to identify hazards more easily using the “Energy Wheel,” assess injury severity using “Energy Magnitude” and classify safety hazards and incidents in a new way.
There are human limitations to identifying hazards in the workplace. Learn how to use the Energy Wheel to drastically improve your hazard recognition performance. You’ll be the recipient of a tool which is based on years of field and laboratory research.
Use the concept of Energy Severity and tools provided to better predict the most likely severity of an injury.
Learn a framework to better define safety injuries and observations. Utilize this classification to analyze more safety-related information and establish better leading indicators.
This course was co-developed by University of Colorado professors Matt Hallowell and Matt Morris.
