I can’t stand bidding on jobs. I really can’t. You can’t help feeling cheap and underrated if you get the job, and you feel lame and unappreciated if you don’t! But what if I told you I am an honest-to-goodness success story when it comes to bidding. I’ve met some of my very best and WORLD FAMOUS brand clients through the process. And it’s those AWESOME clients that made it so I never have to bid again (unless I want to – which I DON’T) It’s an awful necessary evil in the freelance creative world, but it can be made better (and MUCH more successful) with just a few tweaks.
There are lots of ways to build your portfolio, meet new clients and make money with graphic design. One of those avenues is online bid-for-work websites like Upwork. These sites let you upload your portfolio, check out job listings, and offer a bid to do the work based on the client’s description of the job they need to be done.
