  • Microsoft Access
  • Queries and SQL
  • ERD Diagrams

Ever wondered how a database is designed from an idea to an actual full blown application?  This course will step you through that process.

You will learn how to transfer an idea you jot down on a napkin to a fully operational, and professional system that will satisfy your design requirements.

The course will give you the skills through hands-on demonstrations, and real world implementations of modeling an idea then converting it into entities that will make up the basis of your database.

You will then be shown how to setup the database like a professional software guru so that it will actually work.  In the process, you will learn about tables, how they are related, how to setup queries and test them and how to build front end apps to interface with the database.

Some of the skills you will acquire will include but will be limited to:

Building database tables

Configuring primary and foreign keys

Implement relationships such as One-to-One, One-to-Many and Many-to-Many

Choose the appropriate data type for database fields

Build constraints and rules for data to be stored in a field, including formatting

Migrate data between databases

Build visual, user friendly interfaces to access and update records

Build custom queries to obtain meaningful results that solve business cases

Create navigation and flow with forms and buttons to enhance the database via a front application

This course, will be based on an exercise to build a transactional database with an inventory control component.
