In this course, we will learn how to make crochet flower earrings. This is a micro crochet jewelry, so you will need a small crochet hook (number 0.5mm) and we will use a very fine thread (almost like sewing thread). All the crochet techniques used in micro crochet are the same as regular crochet, the only differences are the size of the crochet hook and the size of the thread.
In micro crochet, we will use 0.5mm crochet hook (or smaller) and a very fine crochet thread as thin as sewing thread. There are many options for thread, you can use 1 strand of embroidery thread, you can use regular sewing thread (preferably cotton thread) or you can use DMC crochet thread no 80 which is usually use for lace making.
These are the materials needed for this class :
– crochet thread no 80
– 0.5mm crochet hook
– seed beads (I used round TOHO seed beads in rose gold colour, size 11)
– gold chain (I used gold filled chain)
– gold filled earhook
– jewelry pliers (cutter, flat plier and round nose plier)
– fabric stiffener (optional)
I will demonstrate basic crochet stitches technique such as how to make a chain, how to make a double crochet stitches, how to make a treble crochet stitches, how to make magic circle which we’re going to use a lot in this course.
Then, I will demonstrate how to crochet the flower and how to assemble the earrings together.
No basic crochet knowledge is needed prior to taking this course because we will only basic crochet stitches to make the flowers such as magic circle, double crochet, treble crochet. If you’re new to micro crochet, I suggest you to start with thicker thread (such as thread no 40) and bigger hook size such as 1mm
