Infodemic management: Developing an infodemic insights report
Developing an infodemic insights report is one of the key actions taken by infodemic managers to help health authorities and partners identify, questions, concerns, information voids, narratives and circulating mis- and disinformation on a particular health topic and propose preventive and corrective actions toward mitigating the infodemic. This course, which is part of the “Infodemic management course series” provides an overview of the steps the learners can take to plan for and develop an infodemic insights report.
Overview: The OpenWHO course “Infodemic management: developing an infodemic insights report” is intended for anyone interested in building capacities on how to plan for and develop a meaningful infodemic insights report to inform public health authorities’ interventions.
In the future, infodemics will accompany all epidemics. Infodemic management is the systematic use of risk- and evidence-based analysis and approaches to prepare for, prevent and manage these infodemics and reduce their impact on health behaviours during health emergencies.

By the end of this module, you will be able to choose questions that infodemic insights report can help you answer.
Module 2: Step 2: Gather your data sources:
By the end of this module, you will be able to identify data sources; assess quality and provenance of data sources; prioritize regularly recurring data sources; choose analytic methods.
Module 3: Step 3: Conduct integrated analysis of intelligence from data sources:
By the end of this module, you will be able to describe the benefits and limitations of types of data sources available for infodemic insights; develop and prioritize intelligence from different data sources on which to conduct integrated analysis with your insights team; create a codebook and consider an appropriate framework.
Module 4: Step 4: Develop an infodemic insights report, including strategies & recommendations:
By the end of this module, you will be able to create a rapidly reproducible report format; make cohesive arguments and strategic recommendations for infodemic insights in a digestible format; streamline report production to respect timely, routine dissemination.
Module 5: Step 5: Disseminate the infodemic insights report & track actions taken:
