In this course we will begin navigation through the ICD-10-CM code book. We will begin to look at guidelines and how they apply to properly choosing a diagnosis code. In this course, we will go over the Alphabetic Index, Tabular List and how to properly utilize each section to find a code. I will be doing a hands-on demonstration to show students the proper way to search for a code in the tabular list. We will be going over terms and definitions as well as rules and guidance that has been set forth by the CMS. By the end of this course, students will have learned the following: Main Terms, Sub-Terms, Carryovers, NOS, NEC, excludes 1, excludes 2, code first, and many more. They will be able to successfully identify a code from the alphabetic index and find the correct code in the Tabular list.
This course is much more interactive as I am showing more live examples in my coding book. My goal is to help my students to become successful medical coders.
