Getting Started With Bralettes
Meet Alison Smith, MBE, and start by going over the included bralette pattern you’ll be working with. Alison explains how to choose the correct size, fabrics and findings for your project, and make minor adjustments to the pattern for a perfect fit.
Cutting & Layout
Next, lay the bralette pattern out on stretch lace so that the motifs are aligned, then cut out the lace and optional underlining fabric for the cups. After that, Alison shows you how to set up your sewing machine with the correct needle type and stitch setting for stretch lace.
Constructing the Front
Construct the cups for your bralette in stretch lace. Alison shares some variations for underlined lace cups (optional) and jersey fabric for a more casual look.
Constructing the Back
In this lesson, find out how to construct the back of your bralette with a pull-on back, attach the elastics and add the bottom band.
Completing the Bralette
