Have a role of responsibility, with or without direct colleagues to support you. Being in the role of manager does not mean knowing how to do everything, on the contrary: the best key to understanding is having the ability to make the most of the potential of colleagues, to obtain results, while having a breath towards the future. Entrepreneurial managerialism is precisely this: thinking long-term and maintaining people’s well-being. Knowing what they do, how they do it and how they organize themselves is not just a control ability, but above all knowing how to support them so that they feel productive and satisfied with their personal results. How the fruit of their work is used and how it contributes, together with that of colleagues, to the result of the team, function or department. A role that we can easily define as “service” to colleagues, without diminishing it, which assigns tasks and delegates, stimulating people to be protagonists of their results, which makes us an authoritative, but not infallible, guide. Relationships maintained over time: having a network, internal and external to the company, that allows you to think and imagine future scenarios. A role that measures: observing to give proactive feedback to people. Take care of the relationship with our manager, to be in the best conditions to satisfy his expectations: be complementary with his function.
