Rethink The City: New Approaches to Global and Local Urban Challenges
Alternative approaches of 3 urban themes using case studies on the emerging world: Spatial Justice, Urban Resilience, and Housing Provision and Management
Description
According to the UN, the world became predominantly urban in the last decade. However, this fascinating change is not being led by traditional urban centres, but by the extreme accelerated urbanisation process of emerging economies. Traditional approaches may not be suitable to address the urban challenges of the emerging world. The complexity of the urban environment in the Global South demands to go beyond traditional urban strategies and policies.
In that sense, this MOOC aims to debate alternative approaches of three urban themes using case studies on the emerging world: Spatial Justice, Urban Resilience, and Housing Provision and Management.
