Getting Started
Meet Betz and begin by looking at the features of your project: an easy-to-sew apron. Betz discusses fabric options and the supplies you’ll need to get started, then helps you lay out, cut and stabilize the waistband with fusible interfacing.
Construction: Apron Pockets & Skirt
Start sewing your apron by stitching and topstitching the skirt seams, then hem the sides and lower edges. After that, make the two front pockets.
Construction: Bib & Ties
Continue working on your apron as you assemble the bib and construct the neck ties and waist ties. From there, cut and stitch a facing to the bib, sandwiching the neckties in, then turn and topstitch.
Construction: Waistband & Finishing
You’re in the home stretch! Put your apron together by adding the waistband and waistband facing . You’ll join the waistband to the skirt, then to the bib with waist ties cleverly stitched into the seam. Finally, edgestitch the two pockets onto the skirt to finish it off.
