Watercolor Sketching: Natural Landscapes (Trees and Water)

Hi, I’m Darren from Watercolour Mentor. In this class, I’ll show you the FUN and EASY way to enter into the world of watercolors. Watercolor sketching is a great stress-free way to get started and learn basic techniques as well as getting you familiar with turning reference pictures into paintings. By the end of this course, you will have the confidence and skills to understand how to sketch simple and vibrant landscape scenes from any reference photo.

This comprehensive class contains 8 full landscape painting demonstrations of varying complexity. I will walk you through how to complete each painting step by step as you follow along!

In this course, I will cover basics such as:

• Materials – what paints, paper, brushes and pens you will need.

• 8 full demonstrations that will guide you along so you can create similar results.

• Light sources and how to paint realistic shadows/reflections.

• How to sketch a subject easily by simplifying a landscape into basic shapes, and using a combination of loose and accurate drawing/painting styles.

• Hands-on lessons on essential watercolor techniques such as wet-in-wet and wet-on-dry, and dry brush.

• How to paint clouds, water, trees and land.

It can be hard as a beginner knowing where to get started and what to paint so we’re going to get straight into it and have some fun painting these loose watercolor landscapes together.
