As a doctorate, the DBA represents a Level 8 examined academic qualification. It allows the successful graduate to call themselves a doctor and use the prefix Dr or suffix DBA alongside their name.

This introductory level course consists of videos and presentations totalling approximately 80 minutes.

This course does not require any prior knowledge of the DBA.

This course provides an introduction to the DBA, it details the typical application requirements, as well as the typical timeline and thesis requirements to complete the degree.

On completion of this course, you will understand the differences between a PhD and a DBA and which is most suitable for you at this stage of your career.

It also provides helpful hints and advice for prospective and current DBA students to help maximise their time by giving insights from DBA graduates. The DBA Network, created by DBA researchers for DBA researchers, wants to help you understand how best to learn from each other on the long and sometimes lonely journey to complete the degree.

On successful completion of this course you will know if the DBA is the right degree for you, before you commit to the substantial cost and time required to compete one.

We acknowledge that this is an introduction to a typical DBA programme. There will be variations between universities but this course is representative of the usual standards and requirements of most current DBA programmes in Europe.
