What you’ll learn

  • There are so many opportunities to let watercolours sing in snow scenes. This class is a perfect example of this by making varying degrees of shadows in the snow, in posts and a walking bridge. I love to lay down the brush wet-on-wet here and there, introducing primary transparent colours. This base will be the beginning to many layers of paint to create “Winter Snow Shadows”!
  • If you have been frustrated with watercolours in the past or felt like you “don’t get it” – don’t worry – I’ve been there too!
  • Students will be able to use these concepts how to paint this snowy scene, and apply them to future paintings.
  • Students are invited to paint along to create a painting of multi layers of paints using demonstrated step-by-step watercolour techniques.
