What you’ll learn
- Understand what a Zone Mindset is in Golf and how to create it on demand. It’s basically the ability to focus on a single thought, object, or point in space.
- Learn what factors keep you from accessing this powerful attentional state and most importantly how to keep them from distracting your attention.
- Learn what, how, and how much to practice to practice daily to develop a High-Performance Mind State in the comfort of your home or office.
- Learn strategies to incorporate a Zone Mindset into your physical training at a driving range so you can play as well as you practice.
- Understand the role that the fight-or-flight reflex exerts on your ability to perform under pressure or the outcome is uncertain.
- Develop the ability to transform your nervous system from fight-or-flight to a High-Performance Mind State instantly
In this course, you will learn what The Zone is, what factors keep you from accessing this elevated mind state and most important, how to stop them from destroying your game. You will learn in the comfort of your home or office, making it easy to practice daily. This accelerates your learning process. Once you learn how to direct your attention to a single though, object, or point in space while disregarding all other internal and external stimuli, you then take you newly developed attentional skills to the practice range where you incorporate your attentional skills into your physical practice. The appropriate attentional skills help you develop your physical skills faster and easier. Finally, you learn to take that long walk from the practice tee to the first tee without transforming from Dr. Jekyll into Mr. Hyde so you play as well as you practice.
While the prevailing wisdom tells us we cannot will ourselves into The Zone or force Zone-like experiences, let me let you in on a little secret. Any golfer of any ability level, from novice to elite-level amateur or playing professional has the ability to access The Zone any time they want. But you have to learn how to control your thoughts and your reactions to the events unfolding when you’re playing. To do that, you may have to learn how to create a single-mindedness in your attention. Because we constantly attempt to multi-task throughout our daily lives, we rarely, if ever limit our attention to a single thought. That is what you will learn to do in this course.
