Before starting each project, students will watch a short Artist Biography video. In this video, students will discover details about each artist’s life and view images of drawings and paintings that the artists created during their lifetime.
Students will then move to the drawing and painting portion of the project. Each lesson will outline basic drawing and painting techniques and students will apply these techniques to complete each project. The teaching process used for each project is a step-by-step method that will inspire and delight students into creating action! This process involves observing, following instructions, and creating until each student is happy with the outcome. The Beginners Drawing & Painting Art Inspired by Famous Artists course is designed to give beginner artists the skills they need to begin their artistic journey into self-expression, reflection, and creative thinking.
Supplies and materials needed for this course:
thick white paper (watercolor paper works great!)
watercolor paints
tempera, acrylic, or poster paints
paintbrushes
oil pastels (or crayons will work!)
colored pencils (or crayons will work!)
colored markers
permanent marker
12″ ruler
pencil with an eraser
paper towels
paper plate (to use as a palette)
cup of water
mat to protect work area
