  • Analyze the definition of rational expressions together with their conditions
  • Distinguish between the sum of two perfect cubes and the difference of two perfect cubes in the real number system
  • Discuss the definition of an equation together with the operations used in solving for the value of unknown
  • Define the conditions for which a function, f(x), can be said to be an exponential equation
  • Describe the correct form of logarithmic functions together with their components
  • Analyze the characteristic graphs of the different conics relevant to pre-calculus
  • Algebraic Fundamentals

To start, this module will introduce you to the basics of algebra relevant to these different fields and others. You will also learn about various operations useful to algebra. Algebra is widely applied in engineering, construction, and business. It is used in the development of many important theories in science and technology.

    Solving Equations and Inequalities

To start, this module will introduce you to the different methods for correctly solving equations and inequalities covering the use of operations along with their ranges. You will also learn about distinguishing between various types of equations from inequalities.

    Function Fundamentals

To start, this module will introduce you to the basics of functions related to pre-calculus covering their different properties, types, as well as the usual transformations functions are made to obey through changes made to their varying compositions.

    Polynomial and Rational Functions

Polynomials are important aspects of arithmetic often dealing with the basic math functions of addition, subtraction, and multiplication. In this module, you will learn about the properties, workings, and process involved in the operation of polynomials and rational functions.

CLEP College Pre-Calculus – First Assessment

In order to pass this assessment, you will need to score 80 percent or above. Remember, if you do not achieve the required standard after the first attempt, you can re-take the assessment until a successful outcome is achieved.

    Exponential and Logarithmic Functions

All components of mathematical relations and functions must be associated correctly for appropriate theories, operations, and applications. In this module, you will learn about the descriptions of exponential and logarithmic functions. Also, you will learn about the processes for correctly solving exponential equations.

    Conic Sections

Conics have a long history in the development of mathematics dating back to the Greeks in 375BC. In this module, you will learn about the different properties of ellipses, parabolas, hyperbolas. You will also learn about the properties of lines and circles.

    Trigonometry and Angles

To start, this module will introduce you to the concept of trigonometry and basic trigonometric ratios. You will also learn about the types of angles and calculations related to circular functions. You will also learn about special right triangles and methods for proving various triangle types.

    Trigonometric Identities and Equations

To start, this module will introduce you to proving trigonometric identities along with methods for solving double angle identities. You will also learn about inverse trigonometric functions covering first-degree and second-degree trigonometric equations. You will also learn about the properties and workings of trigonometric laws.

CLEP College Pre-Calculus – Second Assessment

In order to pass this assessment, you will need to score 80 percent or above. Remember, if you do not achieve the required standard after the first attempt, you can re-take the assessment until a successful outcome is achieved.
