In this course, learn how to illustrate your own women’s fashion collection combining manual and digital design techniques. Join Carol and create one-of-a-kind sketches with your own style and personality.
Begin by getting to know Carol Gomide. She tells you about her professional background and her biggest influences in the world of art and fashion before going over the course content and final project.
In the second unit, review some basic illustration concepts and go over the different materials you need to create a sketch collection. Learn step by step how to depict the human figure and its proportions, discover where to find references for your project, and create a color palette for your sketches.
Now it’s time to start sketching. First, draw the clothing for your collection. Then, move on to hair and skin and color in your designs following the color palette you created in the previous unit. Finally, add light and shadows to your illustrations for more depth and put the finishing touches on your collection.
Once you’ve finished your designs, Carol gives you some tips on how to photograph your work and share it on social media. She also shows you some alternative uses for your custom sketches including how to create a portfolio or turn them into prints for other products.
