Most people dream of sitting and playing their favourite songs to family or friends or even just for their own enjoyment. They’ve watched so many people at concerts/on youtube, facebook and really want to have a go themselves.
So, in order to play those famous songs, you need to know how to play chords. Now, learning chords can be quite challenging. So, this course is designed in a way that builds up your chord playing, from very basic chords, using only one finger, to two and then 3 finger chords. This helps you develop your technique in an easy to manage way, so that you can clearly see and understand what playing chords is and the skills it actually takes to perform them effectively.
Once you’ve learnt the chords, then we move onto using them. We start with the easier one finger chords to perform well known songs to professionally recorded backing tracks. Then we add 2 and 3 finger chords into the mix and perform those to backing tracks also. There are clear on screen signals used as part of the course, which takes away the pressure of you needing to remember all the chords as you’re playing along.
Performing to backing tracks teaches you about musical timing, which is crucial when producing any kind of musical performance. We also learn to develop chord changes, which is something that can take time and needs regular practice in order to achieve the best results.
