This course is designed to teach basic concepts of the periodic table. It analyzes properties of the periodic table relevant to successfully writing chemical formulas. The categorization of elements into groups and periods is also carefully explained to fulfill the needs of learners taking the Regents Exam in Chemistry in New York State but the course is a good refresher for any chemistry student.
What You Will Learn In This Free Course
Periodic Tables and Elements
In this module, you will learn about the categorization of elements into different groups and periods of the periodic table. You will also learn about aspects of various atoms, electrons, and ionic charges as properties of elements in the periodic table.
Writing Formulas and Chemical Equations
In this module, you will learn about various aspects of writing chemical formulas together with their ionic components. Also, you will learn about writing various chemical reaction equations with the rules involved for the different compounds involved.
Mole Concept and Stoichiometry
In this module, you will learn about concepts surrounding Avogadro’s number and its function in calculating aspects useful to atoms and moles in chemical equations. You will also learn about both molar mass and molar volume together with formula calculations.
