Flowers, floral shapes and watercolor? That is just the perfect match!

In this class, we will explore different floral elements, and create 3 lovely artworks together, and we will paint them loose and fresh, because that is exactly why watercolor is the best medium for this kind of painting.

And the best part is that it is not only the class projects you will be able to create with me in/after this class, but mastering these simple floral elements will give you countless options of building up your own floral compositions.

Does not matter if you are a beginner or you already have some experience in this area, I believe this class can be fun for all of you.

So if you have a piece of watercolor paper and some paints and brushes, you are ready to join me in the class!

There are 3 class projects, each one a bit different but all of them containing the loose floral elements from the exercise chapters.

We will paint a simple composition of 3 roses, leaves and twigs with berries, then an oval shape filled with flowers, where the daisies will be the main characters, and last, but no least, free composition of different flower types spread across the watercolor paper.

Do not limit yourself to what you see in the video, feel free to choose different color and shape combinations, and of course, don’t forget to upload your results!

These are the colors used in the projects:

Project #1 – Watercolor Roses

  1. Claret (red color)

  2. Mint (light blue color)

  3. Dunes (beige color)

Project #2 – Watercolor Daisies in an Oval

  1. Red Ochre (orange center)

  2. Yellow Ochre + Cadmium Yellow Medium (yellow petals)

  3. Payne’s Grey (stems)

  4. Carmine Red + Red Ochre (small flowers)

  5. Earth Green (leaves)

Project #3 – Free Composition

  1. Prussian Blue

  2. Carmine Red

  3. Green
