Are you involved in submitting tender bids for your organisation? Do you want a career in procurement? Are you looking to understand tendering from a different perspective? Has your organisation submitted tenders unsuccessfully? Then this course is for you.

This course helps you understand the common mistakes that are made by bidders that cause their submissions to be disqualified or have marks deducted.

Having spent fifteen years working in procurement, at different times in my career I have seen tender bidding from both sides:

– as the supplier preparing and submitting the bid

– as a member of the evaluation committee selecting the successful supplier.

I am continually amazed at how many suppliers are tripped up by the simplest of things, leading them to miss out on contracts large and small. This training focuses on those areas of mistakes that are common across all product and service categories. Whilst my perception is that there is nothing ground breaking about this training, obviously it is sorely needed given the number of suppliers who are spending a lot of time preparing bids that are never going to be successful.

In this training you will learn about:

– How to understand instructions from commissioners

– How to ensure your bid content scores as highly as possible

– Writing style do’s and don’ts

This training is focused on tendering, not submitting bids for charitable grants. By tendering I am referring to when an opportunity to supply goods or services for an organisation is advertised and you are invited to submit a bid that requires more information than just a price. Whilst tendering and charitable grant processes have some similarities they are significantly different in key ways.

Who this course is for:

  • Anyone involved in writing or submitting bids for tenders
  • Please note: whilst charitable grant bid writing is similar this course is not aimed at that audience
