    In this module you will be introduced to Japanese scripts and their evolution through history. You will also learn about the characters in Japanese scripts and how they are written, as well as some new Japanese vocabulary.

    Conversational Introductions in Japanese: Part One

    In this module you will be introduced to conversational introductions that are used in the Japanese language. You will also begin pronunciation practice and will learn additional vocabulary.; Module

    Conversational Introductions in Japanese: Part Two

    In this module you will continue your study of conversational introductions that are used in the Japanese language, this time with a focus on the phrase “Where are you from?”. You will also continue pronunciation practice and will learn additional vocabulary.

    Response Phrases

    In this module you will continue your study of conversational response phrases that are used in the Japanese language, this time with a focus on the phrase “What is your specialization?”. You will also continue pronunciation practice and will learn additional vocabulary.

    Diploma in Japanese Language – First Assessment

    This Course Assessment will now enable you to review your learning so you can determine your knowledge and understanding of the following areas: INTRODUCTION TO JAPANESE SCRIPTS Remember, if you do not achieve the required standard after the first attempt, you can re-take the assessment until a successful outcome is achieved.

    People, Places, and Things

    In this module you will be introduced to to Japanese phrases that discuss people, places, and things. In particular, you will learn the Japanese words for “who” and “this”. Furthermore, you will engage in pronunciation practice and learning Japanese numbers, including an introduction to counting.

    Discussing Cost in Japanese

    In this module you will be introduced to to Japanese phrases that discuss cost and purchases. You will also learn the Japanese words that are used for discussing the location of objects. Furthermore, you will continue pronunciation practice and learning Japanese numbers and counting.

    Discussing Hobbies and Time in Japanese

    In this module you will be introduced to to Japanese phrases that discuss hobbies. You will also be introduced to phrases that discuss time. Furthermore, you will learn how to ask questions such as “what time is it now?” Lastly, you will continue your pronunciation practice, along with practicing numbers.

    Japanese Time Expressions

    In this module you will be introduced to to Japanese phrases that discuss time. For example, you will learn the days of the week and how to express in Japanese quarter and half-hours.You will also continue your practice with pronunciation and numbers, as well as how to count the floors of a building.

    Introduction to Japanese Language – Second Assessment

    This Course Assessment will now enable you to review your learning so you can determine your knowledge and understanding of the following areas: INTRODUCTION TO JAPANESE PHRASES Remember, if you do not achieve the required standard after the first attempt, you can re-take the assessment until a successful outcome is achieved.

    Demonstratives and Verbs

    In this module you will be introduced to the demonstratives and verbs that make up a phrase such as “I am going to Tokyo tomorrow.” In addition, you will learn about how to write phone numbers and dates in Japanese.

    Time and Verbs

    In this module you will learn different Japanese verbs and how to use them in coordination with statements related to time. You will also study Kanji, expressions, and vocabulary.; Module

    Objects and Time Duration

    In this module you will learn how to discuss time duration in Japanese and how to identify the object of a sentence. You will also continue your study of Kanji characters and Japanese vocabulary.; Module

    Months, Location, and Counting

    In this module you will be introduced to methods for describing location, using phrases such as “the post office is over there.” Furthermore, you will learn how to list the months of the year and how to count small objects using the word “arimasu”. Lastly, you will continue your practice of Kanji script and Japanese vocabulary.

    Diploma in Japanese Language – Third Assessment

    This Course Assessment will now enable you to review your learning so you can determine your knowledge and understanding of the following areas: INTRODUCTION TO JAPANESE: TIME AND PARTS OF SPEECH Remember, if you do not achieve the required standard after the first attempt, you can re-take the assessment until a successful outcome is achieved.

    Location

    In this module you will be introduced to the conversational phrases “when is your birthday?” and “where is …?” in Japanese. You will also learn how to differentiated between the location-describing words for living and non-living things, how to count people, and several new kanji characters. You will also be introduced to the expression, “gochisosama deshita.”

    How to Inquire After Someone

    In this module you will be introduced to phrases such as “o-genki desu ka” and “daijoubo desu”. You will also learn the difference between “masho” and “-masen ka”, both of which are invitations. Finally, you will learn about the conjunction “soshite” and several new kanjis and vocabulary words.

    Formal Conversations and the Past Negative Tense

    In this module you will be introduced to the word “shitsurei shimasu” and the situations in which it can be used. You will also learn how to communicate approximate times, the past-negative, and the particles “yo” and “to”. Finally, you will learn several new Japanese words.

    Adjectives

    In this module you will be introduced to Japanese adjectives and the difference between “i-adjectives” and “na-adjectives”. Furthermore, you will learn about “-ta ga” and “ga”. Lastly, you will learning the meanings of many different Japanese adjectives.

    Diploma in Japanese Language – Fourth Assessment

    This Course Assessment will now enable you to review your learning so you can determine your knowledge and understanding of the following areas: INTRODUCTION TO JAPANESE CONVERSATION Remember, if you do not achieve the required standard after the first attempt, you can re-take the assessment until a successful outcome is achieved.
