This course gives you the fundamental building blocks for implementing LSS techniques. You will learn about the quality requirements for Six Sigma processes and be taken through all the phases of the DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, and control) model. The reduction of waste in organizational processes is an important aspect of management, and this course will help you build competency in that area.
What You Will Learn In This Free Course
Fundamentals of Lean Six Sigma
In this module, you will be introduced to the course and what you will learn after completion. You will also be provided with the aims of Lean Six Sigma.
Lean, Six Sigma and DMAIC
In this module, you will first get an overview of the Lean method, and then the Six Sigma method, respectively. You will learn about the history of both concepts and then get an overview of the DMAIC model.
Define Stage
In this module, you will learn about the Define stage of the DMAIC model. You will learn about the purpose of this stage, how to draft a business case and project plan, as well how to capture the voice of your customer.
Measure, Analyse and Improve
In this module, you will learn about the measure, analyse and Improve stages of the DMAIC process, as a continuation from the previous module. You will learn about activities such as Mapping out the Process, Gap Analysis, RCA, and Solution generation, amongst others.
Control and Case Study
In this module, you will learn about the last stage of the DMAIC model, Control. You will learn about control plans, charts, and measures. You will also learn about benefits realisation. This module also provides a case study of LSS in action.
