Finding a personal style and applying it to an illustration respecting the natural essence and the objective of it is important when it is also a portrait. The renowned artist Augusto Costhanzo, has a very defined style and marked by humor. He takes his illustrations as a portraitist and incorporates satire comfortably intelligently.

In this course, Costhanzo will teach you to find your world view and transform it into insolent and personal, so that later you can apply it to a portrait.

You will start by knowing Costhanzo, how he became an illustrator and what has influenced his work. He will tell you about his influences and explain what you will do during the course.

You will make a brief introduction to the history of the cartoon, making stops in the different styles, times and techniques. Already involved in the subject, the teacher will guide you to find your personal style.

You will choose who to portray, investigating the person, analyzing it and preparing the ground to go to the paper. Then, you will focus on getting an idea to start sketching your scene with pencil and paper.

Next, you will focus on resolving the resemblance to the person in question, stopping on facial features but being consistent with your personal style. You will try portraying front, profile and three quarters until you find the best option.
